Our Story – this book is a collection of works submitted by the residents and staff of The Parks Villages retirement estates, Bridgewater Estate, The Elms and Langton Park. The contributions were made during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when the opportunities for social connection that we all sometimes take for granted were limited.

The works contained herein reflect the ideas, thoughts, memories and reflections of the contributing authors. The true delight in reading these works comes from the keen sense of honesty, feeling and at times humour that shines through each line shared by those who contributed pieces.

Perhaps, during this tumultuous change in our lives, that is the year 2020; our community minded village residents may take this volume to be a reflection of the varied journeys that have brought us together in a new era of maintaining required physical distance.

We hope that some of you reading these works may find interest in the common and diverse interests and the rich tapestry of experiences shared by your contemporaries.
